Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of collaboration in the performance of supply chain management of organic coffee, based on the opinion of the managers. One hundred and seven managers with experience in subjects related to supply chain management (SCM) in organic coffee were involved in the study. Data were collected and processed by means of structural equation modeling. A valid relation between the following constructs was found: [SCM and Collaboration] and [SCM and Performance]. However, was also found that the collaboration did not affect the operational performance. Based on these results, we may conclude that, although the collaboration is valid for improving the performance of the SCM in organic coffee, its importance was not found by the managers. Therefore, this work sought to contribute to the broadening of knowledge about the SCM in organic coffee. We also sought to find support in the corporate environment to easy the understanding of possible impacts of collaboration in the operating performance of SCM of organic coffee.
