Cocoyam is planted in 1 ha. parcels especially in May and June. Marketing is the principal limiting factor with this crop. Plantain is planted in 1,6 ha. parcels, with no defined date of planting. Plantain populations used were 880 pi/ha. The most common cultivars, 'criollo' and '300', are susceptible to Black Sigatoka, the principal agronomic problem for this crop.
