Abstract
The article includes an attempt to assess the level of price competitiveness of Polish grain sector in the
European Union market. Sepecial attention has been paid to the condition of Polish producers price advantage
relative to the EU’s main competitors, ie. the largest producers and exporters of cereals and their products
in the EU. The study covered the years 2011-2014. In building a competitive advantage in the Polish cereals
sector prices play vital role. This is indicated by both the analysis of market prices of basic products of this
sector, which are in Poland still lower than in developed EU countries, as well as analysis of prices of highly
processed products. It is expected that Polish cerals producers manage to maintain a price advantage in
the EU market, however, due to the progressive convergence process they will be systematically decreasing
