Abstract
The aim of the study was to perform a comprehensive analysis of the poultry meat market before and
after the integration of Poland into the European Union. The study was carried out based on data from the
Central Statistical Office of Poland, the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics, and FAO. During
the 10 years after joining the European Union, Poland witnessed a considerable increase in the domestic
production, consumption and export of poultry meat (by 104,700 t/year on average) compared to the 10-
year period before the integration, when this figure was 68,000 t/year. The growing demand for poultry
meat and the strong growth in the export of poultry meat favour the increase in domestic production and
it is thought that this tendency will continue in the next years, which is confirmed by the findings of other
poultry market analysis.
