One of the methods of renewable energy production is the production of agricultural bio-gas. Each country should produce energy in a way most appropriate to the conditions that exist in that country, taking into account the holdings of raw materials and the level of technological development. The aim of the article was to examine the dynamics of the development of the bio-gas market and raw materials used in 2011-2014. It was based on statistical data and reports the amount of bio-gas and energy that was produced, the dynamics of growth in that production, and the quantity of agricultural bio-gas plants in Poland. The paper also examined changes in the quantity and structure of the raw materials used. There is an increasing use of products and waste products of agriculture and agri-food industry. The case study shows how to reduce the cost of producing energy from bio-gas allowing future competitiveness with conventional fuels. /Synopsis. Jednym ze sposobów produkcji energii odnawialnej jest jej wytwarzanie w biogazowniach rolniczych. Każdy kraj powinien wytwarzać energię w sposób najbardziej adekwatny do warunków jakie w danym kraju występują, uwzględniając posiadane surowce i poziom rozwoju technologicznego. Celem artykułu było zbadanie dynamiki rozwoju rynku biogazu oraz wykorzystywanych surowców w latach 2011-2014. Opierając się na danych statystycznych i sprawozdaniach ilości wytworzonego biogazu i energii określono dynamikę wzrostu produkcji biogazu, energii oraz ilości biogazowi rolniczych w Polsce. Dokonano również analizy zmiany ilości i struktury wykorzystywanych surowców. Stwierdzono, że trwałą tendencją jest zwiększanie wykorzystania produktów ubocznych i odpadowych rolnictwa i przemysłu rolno-spożywczego. W przedstawionym studium przypadku zaprezentowano sposób obniżania kosztów produkcji energii z biogazu, pozwalający w przyszłości konkurować z paliwami konwencjonalnymi.
