A statistical model is estimated from Class I data that explains most of the variation in this index, while controlling for commodity and fixed network effects. The results suggest that length of haul, net load, and train size contributed significantly to performance gains from 1987 to 2006. However, train miles per track mile increased by 89% during the same period, resulting in line and yard congestion. 000207196 650__ $$aPublic Economics 000207196 700__ $$aTolliver, Denver 000207196 700__ $$aBitzan, John 000207196 700__ $$aBenson, Doug 000207196 773__ $$q87$$o100$$tJournal of the Transportation Research Forum$$j49$$k3$$d2010 000207196 8564_ $$976ad2b3c-154d-4f12-9919-a8a5f56cc93b$$s597714$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/207196/files/2586-5326-1-PB.pdf 000207196 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/207196 000207196 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:207196$$pGLOBAL_SET 000207196 912__ $$nSubmitted by Taisiia Stanishevska (stani097@umn.edu) on 2015-07-30T21:13:35Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2586-5326-1-PB.pdf: 597714 bytes, checksum: 2e6030402a4fa8a1baccf7e501f8f7dd (MD5) 000207196 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2015-07-30T21:13:35Z (GMT).
