Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the scope of public aid received by farmers from middle Pomerania
affected by natural disasters. The study involved 256 owners and managers holdings, and the time range covered
the years 2004-2012. A high risk of agricultural activity resulting from the variables climatic conditions and
ineffectiveness in prevention and combating that risk makes it necessary to activate the different forms of aid
from the measures the state budget. Public aid is addressed to farmers who suffered injury in agricultural
holdings as a result of natural disasters. Owners of agricultural holdings from middle Pomerania to the fullest
extent have benefited from compensation to premiums to insure agricultural crops and livestock. Farmers have
shown little interest in the use of measures under the programme of the RDP 2007-2013, action 126.
