Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the competitiveness of Polish pork on the EU market. The source
of data for analysis were studying literature data and storage statistics. Competitiveness was assessed on
the basis of the comparison of levels of production costs, purchase prices, the foreign trade balance and
indicators of export orientation and import penetration. Research shows that after the integration of Poland
to the EU the foreign trade of alive pork and pork has increased. The competitiveness of Polish pork on the
European market of the EU decreased. It is indicated a high level of production costs and purchase prices
and the continuing negative balance of foreign trade.
