U.S. GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION IN DAIRY MARKETS: HAS THE 1996 AGRICULTURAL ACT REFORMED THE GOVERNMENT'S ROLE?; Proceedings of the Fifth Joint Conference on Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, June 17-18, 1996, Padova, Italy.

The objectives of this paper are to describe basic characteristics of U.S. dairy price programs prior to 1996, and to provide an assessment of how the changes in the Federal Agricultural Improvements and Reform Act (FAIR) of 1996 will change our government's involvement in the sector.
