Abstract

To assist in meeting the target outcomes for the Beef CRC, Sustainable Beef Profit Partnership (BPP) teams meet regularly to measure their current performance, set targets for future productivity increases, and use a profitability framework to assess the potential impact of improvements, innovations and new technologies in their beef businesses. Their decisions and actions are based on the Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CI&I) process. Capacity building and partnership outcomes are also assessed and the BPP teams are supported with appropriate tools and resources. In this final paper in this special edition, some recent developments in the design and management of the BPP project are discussed and the opportunities such a project presents to beef businesses and value chains to improve their economic performance are canvassed.
