Abstract
The article aimed to analyze the scale of deprivation in household consumption in 2005, 2009 and
2013. The data was derived from The Social Diagnosis – the conditions and quality of life of the Poles in
2013, and from the individual microdata published with the study. The conducted analysis showed that
farmer’s households in comparison with all Polish households were characterized by the acute deprivation,
particularly in food consumption, recreation, culture, and holiday activities. Moreover, it was observed that
better financial condition after Polish accession to the UE, implied decreased deprivation in consumption.
