| Abstract: | The study aimed to generally describe the local sustainable development factors that hinder women's empowerment in transforming Ojoche seed, in the rural municipality of Chinandega, where were considering the local sustainable development approach (Gómez Sal, 2004).
We used the methodology of the survey interview to obtain information, applied to the seed producers and key informants Ojoche identified as local agents of the production process.
The results found that the factors that limit or hinder the empowerment of women in transforming ojoche seed in these communities are low education (73% primary level), low participation in the functioning of the organization (APOCHE ), do not have knowledge about marketing, lack the financial capacity nor clothes to be subject mortgage loan as production ojoche seed is stationary, which hinders the development of a sustainable economy. |
