Authors: Yao, Xianbin
Issue Date: 1985
Series/Report no.: Graduate Research Master's Degree Plan B Papers
Abstract: This paper analyzes the current reforms of the agricultural supply and marketing cooperatives in China. The emphasis of the paper is on describing the institutional changes in China's agricultural economy and stressing the theoretical reasons why the cooperatives can be an efficient marketing alternative. This paper argues that performance of an agricultural marketing and supply cooperative is affected by its internal organization and its external relationships. These two issues are discussed in some detail with the reference to the situation in China.
